NSS members look forward to the first crewed flight of the New Shepard, and to sub-orbital tourist flights once New Shepard is operational. However, as the atmosphere in space is largely different to that one earth the speed differs greatly and factors like the heat of the star, if it hits any debris and how much it burns up in the atmosphere can all affect how it falls and at what speed. GLOBE at Night is a citizen-science campaign open to people all over the world to raise awareness of the impact of light pollution by inviting citizen-scientists to measure their night sky brightness and report their observations to a website from a computer or smart phone.

Oddly though, a human can survive several seconds of pure vacuum. ``2001: A Space Odyssey'' had a scene like this; the astronaut had to go from his pod to the airlock without his helmet. Ceres is "Clouds and Earth's Radiant Energy System". All of the stars (except the Sun) are so far away that they appear as mere points in even the largest telescopes, even though they are actually much larger than the planets. The moon doesn't "go" anywhere during a new moon, and the one a month phenomenon occurs when the moon lies directly between earth and the sun, so it is in direct conjunction with the sun.
